How to Dress for Fall in Florida
Growing up in Florida, I never got to experience the change in seasons until I moved away to college. I could not wait to try out the clothing that wasn’t practical for my previously tropical lifestyle. I welcomed trading in flip flops for tall boots, and sundresses for flannel. Fall quickly became my most cherished season. But when I moved back to Florida two years ago, the warm climate was cramping my love for all things autumn. This year, I decided I didn’t want to miss out entirely. I have learned that I don’t necessarily need to bundle up to enjoy the fall trends. Instead of a suede jacket, I embraced these suede shorts. Mine are from Club Monaco that I purchased years ago, so I linked similar ones below. Burgundy is also a popular fall color, so I incorporated this on-trend hue through a crossbody purse. Another tip is to chose dark-colored clothing made in lighter-weighted fabrics. My top from Theory is thin enough to wear in the heat, but its darker colors make me at least feel like it is fall. I finished my outfit off with these cork wedges I found from Stuart Weitzman, which are always practical in Florida regardless of the season.
