The Versatile Drop Waist
Through the years, I have encountered an endless type of dress silhouettes: a-line, shift, empire waist, wrap, fit & flare, etc. However, the drop-waist is one of my favorites because it’s so versatile. Casual or Dressy. Flirty or Conservative. It’s really the epitome of the day to night dress. This Alice & Olivia ‘Glenn’ dress in Merlot delivers everything that I love about the 20’s-inspired silhouette. Its flouncy skirt creates a flirty and feminine vibe which contrasts the conservative turtleneck. The soft, almost sweater-like material is very laid-back, while the dress’ rich hues makes it evening appropriate. To style this look, I decided to take the middle of the road approach. I dressed up the wine-hued dress with these Manolo Blahnik pointed heels. At the same time, I added a casual touch by picking this retro-inspired blush bucket bag from Chloe. Since I always seem to make my plans last minute, I need an outfit appropriate for anytime of day.
